TWO Small Business owners, ONE great podcast.

Two friends that love small business, and a chance meeting has turned into a life-changing friendship that has lasted for over a decade.  Johnny and Nick have been friends ever since Nick needed space for his young and expanding painting business about 15 years ago.  Nick was looking for extra space in a warehouse, and John was looking to rent out a little bit of his extra space.  After moving in and learning that they had something in common: the love of talking about business, Nick decided he needed to move out.  “I was afraid he wouldn’t be my friend any more.  John has a place for everything, and nothing was out of place.  My corner was a mess, and I didn’t want to piss him off, so I figured I better leave.  We’ve talked almost daily ever since.”

Nick and Johnny have been entrepreneurs since being in school.  Johnny in grade school, and Nick in college.  Both run very simple businesses with low barriers to entry. John runs a hugely successful lawn care business called Erbert Lawns, and Nick runs one of the premier painting businesses in Denver: Walls by Design.

Nick actually started the Small Business Naked podcast to promote a consulting business , but was on Denver radio station AM 560 KLZ.  Initially starting as a blog, Nick realized that it might be more interesting to do actual interview on the radio.  When the show first started, it was call Cultivating Small Business with Nick May.  Not so catchy.  Nick would have a different co-host each week, but soon figured out that asking Johnny to join him was more interesting…and fun.  The two co-host have unique points of view and bring a different insight into the business topics they discuss.
